Wind Gust Records
« on: December 30, 2009, 21:15:05 »
A storm is underway in the South Midlands with a 40mph gust recorded at 2m in height. This is the strongest gust of the year at this location. Even more interestingly is that the direction of the gust is ENE.
If it doesn't rain between the showers, it'll be fine.

51mph today strongest of month which has been very lacking in gusts.

While its not a very notable speed for my site I think it is notable gust in an easterly wind

Will have a look now but it fell into grass and not onto my drive. Seems to be working fine.

56.5 knots today, highest this year... 2009 record was 75.6 knots - an underestimate as the mast broke during that gust :hb:

64mph Yesterday, but the real news at the site where our weather station is located is the snow drifts we got yesterday, some are 5Ft deep.

I suppose the thread title covers this, but it is for low gust....

26th Jan 2010, daily mean of 0.4mph with max gust of 5mph.
Mean is lowest on record for Jan and lowest since Dec 06, the last time the pressure was higher and the gust is the lowest max daily gust I've found in my records.
