Dew Point Question
« on: February 06, 2010, 00:03:26 »
I have just fine tuned my dewpoint, my dewpoint depression and humidity for fog.

Snowbie, I just noticed this comment on another thread - can you tell me more about this "fine tune" as I think my dewpoints always read a tad high from my Davis.

Danno.
If it doesn't rain between the showers, it'll be fine.

All through Weather display Danno and not actually configuring the dewpoint. This is solely to do with the current conditions icon.

I use an offset adjustment that configures when the fog icon is produced. Again it's not adjusting the temp/hum/dew but offsetting the range in which the icon is produced from clientraw.txt file using them variables.

I remember you saying before the dewpoints where reading to high from your station, how do you know they are?

Ok, it may seem your temp sensor may be off a tad. As you reported heavy snow at that temp/dew, this can be possible if the precip is extremely heavy as you put it. Though if it where lighter and sleet was falling, this is accurate. Hard to tell unless you have another sensor to compare with.

You could bring your station up to me and compare with my lot if you like to put the mind at ease.
